That is still the general stance. Whether it is technically errata is something that can be discussed, but this isn't the first time there has been a "correction" that nerfed/buffed something. But in general I would not expect something like that from WotC, they are few and fare between. Therefore, if you think something needs tweaked (buff/nerf/fix), you should go ahead and do it - don't wait on WotC.

Yeah I just find it really questionable when they do this. Especially as they overnerfed here way past even what they previously suggested as an optional approach for the spell, which was 2x stat mod. So instead of likely healing for an absolute max of 6d6 to 10d6 (i.e. average of 21 to average 35), it heals for a 4d6 to 6d6, which is frankly a little pathetic. Prayer of Healing heals for 2d8+mod on up to six characters, so let's say 2d8+3, and let's say it heals only 4 characters, but that's average 48 right there! Even if it only heals 3, that's average 36, which is more. Further, Prayer is a single action, and fire-and-forget, whereas Spirit likely requires you to use a number of bonus actions to reposition it.

It was certainly ludicrous out of combat so I don't mind it being corrected, but why indulge in these sort of overcorrections when you also refuse to fix problems, including ones they're now manufacturing?

Finally had time to review all the errata. Not much new really, or very important IMO (provided you were either fine with HS before or already house-ruled a fix, which our table did).

Seems like the April Fool's joke was real. ;)

Seriously, though, I guess I was just expecting too much. Oh, well, if others are happy with it that is good.

Prayer of Healing has a 10 minute cast time.

My bad - can you tell I never played a Cleric in 5E? Well, until last Friday. I still think it's an overnerf given the size of disparity and that they went far beyond what Crawford (who posts more conservative takes on stuff than literally any other official WotC dude) suggested. It's not like it's a low-effort spell in combat.

I for one am happy that WotC stopped being terrified of fixing things.

Yeah but now they need to make their mind up. Are they going to fix broken things or not? And if they are, are they going to do a better job than this, which was frankly shoddy work? You can't just fix one random thing and leave the rest broken, I say, even if the rest is mostly broken in the other direction.
