New Feat: Feint

Since Bluff is a cross-class skill for fighters, yet the art of the feint is a standard tactic in combat, I thought that there should be something available for fighters to show their potential. I based it off of the Combat Casting feat, but applied a prerequisite that requires some skill at arms. Commentary is welcome.

Feint (General, Fighter)

Prerequisites: BAB +1
You are well trained in misdirection during combat.

Benefit: You gain a +4 bonus to Bluff checks made to feint an opponent in combat.

And a +4 to Sense Motive checks to detect feints.

Give the poor FTR a chance.

Don't use bluff and sense motive but attack roll

Feint (General, Fighter)
You are at feinting opponents to catch them off-balanced and get extra-damage.
Prerequisites: weapon specialization
Benefit: If you succeeded an attack roll vs 10 + opponent attack (with total bonuses but count DX, not St bonuses) you gain an extra +2 damage for the remaining attacks of the round. Your others attacks are at +5, maximum base Bab. The opponents have no Dx bonuses added to AC for these attacks.

effect:
-1 attack
+2 damage to all others

don't loose a good atatck at base bab, others attack are at +5 (0/-5/-10) = normal
(0/0/-5) = with feint

The feat is balanced as written, but rogues benefit so much more from feinting than fighters that only rogues and fighter/rouges will be interested in it.

I think a feat making feint a move action instead of a standard action would be much better.

AS this is written, it seems fine but I don't see a reason for a straight fighter to take it.

How about a feat that allows you to use your BAB instead of bluff skill for feints? That would benefit fighters a lot, and rogues not so much.

And maybe another feat that allows you to use your BAB instead of your sense motive skill for detecting feints.

I've played fighters that would have loved to have been able to be able to negate the dex of an opponent. Getting around the defenses of a rogue is a nice thing to be able to do. I'm sure others have wanted to be able to do it as well, since I've seen many people complaining about fighters having bluff as a cross class skill. :)

I posted my version above. I give more to fighter than just Dxless AC, but is it balanced ?

Re: Re: Re: New Feat: Feint

I'm not saying it is completely worthless for a fighter, but think of what you're giving up to use it. A 6th level fighter can either pull of four attacks in two rounds, or feint the first round and maybe deny his opponent his Dexterity bonus against the first attack of two the second round. Not that great, no?

BTW, giving +4 to both feinting and resisting feinting would be going too far.
