New Feat for review

A new character i'm thinking of making is gonna be a wilder/fighter/pyro, and doesn't use weapons. Now, i gave him Imp Unarmed Strike, but I was thinking of making a feat to give him a bit more punch (no pun intended) in combat:

Brawler (General)
Prereq's: Improved Unarmed Strike, BAB +4
Beneifits: Your unarmed damage increases by one step.

Any comments? too weak? too strong?

So it improves unarmed strike damage from 1d3 to 1d4? That's an average increase in damage of 0.5. I would make it improved unarmed strike damage by two steps (from 1d3 to 1d6) and add as a prerequisite "cannot possess the flurry of blows class feature."

The technical design term for that would be "really awkward." ;) A better way to do it might be just to say "Increase your base unarmed damage by two steps. This does not stack with increased unarmed damage granted by monk or monk-like class levels."

There alrdy a feat like this. Improved Natural Attack, Not super sure where is located at. But it steps your Damage up one step, Very useful on a Monk.

Prereq is, iirc:
Improved Unarmored Attack and BAB+4 almost exatcly like your Thoughts :)

Your feat is too weak for the benefit it gives. Reduce the BAB requirement to +1, and add a Special note that says the feat's increase to unarmed damage does not stack with similar increases to the type of dice rolled for unarmed damage. So a monk or their ilk couldn't take the feat for even nastier unarmed damage. Also add a note that the 'steps' of unarmed damage are 1, 1d2, 1d3, 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, 1d12, 2d8, 2d10, 2d12, 4d8, etc. Also, will this feat be available for taking multiple times or just once? If it can only be gained once, it's power should be greater. As others said, make the damage increase two steps, like 1d2 to 1d4 for a Small character, 1d3 to 1d6 for a Medium character, etc. Also, if it can only be taken once, add an additional note that it allows the character to deal normal damage unarmed without the usual -4 penalty. (I don't remember if Improved Unarmed Strike does that already in 3.5, but I know it doesn't in 3.0)
