New Halfling Favoured Class?

I chose barbarian. Living underground all day, having strange wizards give you rings, having raw fish eating mutants hunting you down. Something would have to give.


That, and with all the living in hills with nothing but other halflings, animals, and alcohol...


Honestly though, they're probably better off with ranger as the favored class, flavor wise. Aren't they a race that avoids cities and other roguish environs?

That's the reason I'd almost think Scout, except that Rogues are better finesse fighters, as well as the fact that rogue also encompasses the spectrum of social skills of the young halfling layabout. Ranger/Scout/Rogue all have the sneakiness, but Rogue keeps the generally deceptive part of halflings in focus as well.

First choice, Scout (more nature based, less larceny based). Second choice Rogue (obvious reasons). Third choice Ninja (to appease my inner child).

Well, if I was in charge of Wizards I would know that using a non core class would upset my customers (who don't want to have to buy a book just to use the ability) so that eliminates all of those. Rogue is the best fit of what is left.

I always saw them as Bards. They're travellers and always have a tale to tell.

Has anyone here read 'Grunts'? The halflings were the worst of the bunch! Rogue would easily have been a favored class for them! (and CE their favored alignment)
