New here...sample of my work

First Post
Hey folks...this is my first post here, and since I haven't poked around to see what the legal limit on posting artwork is, I'll just post this and then look around a little more. Hope you all enjoy it, and I welcome feedback of (nearly) all kinds.

All of these started as pencil or ink drawings, which were scanned in and cleaned/edited and, in some cases, colored, in Photoshop. My latest work i entirely digital, since I've started working with a Wacom Intuos2 tablet. I'll post some of it soon.

Your art is really fantastic. I especially love the alien skull- great spooky sleekness which evokes Giger without ripping him off. :)

It seems like you prefer stills; do you do any figure shots/action shots?

I agree with Arthur about looking for small press work- you are quite talented.

Thank you, everyone, I really appreciate your compliments! I'm currently working on building up a porfolio of finished pieces of all kinds. In the meantime have put together a gallery here on ENWorld to show works in progress as well as pieces as I finish them, and even sketches that may or may not be anything.

I am still working on honing my skills, specifically with dynamic figure drawing. Lately my figure style has drifted more toward anime/manga, but more along the "Vampire Hunter D/Lodoss/Ghost in the Shell" style, rather than the more "pop" and "cartoonish" style of the more offbeat animes. Hopefully it will begin to evolve into something of my own!

Arthur, I haven't sought any publication as of yet, but will keep my eyes open now that I'm here at ENWorld. I've always wanted to see my art in gaming materials where I feel that it belongs.

rowport, thanks, I very much appreciate your comment regarding my alien skull. From the first time I saw "Alien" as a kid, I was fascinated by Giger's style and little bits of it have permeated a lot of my horror and monster art. The alien skull was my definitive Giger-esque drawing. At first I was hesitant to add color, but once I did I was very satisfied with it (and was also able to spruce up some bits I'd mucked up in the inking...it was actually inked on paper with quill pens).

Yes, I have generally preferred stills, not for any aesthetic reason, but because they'd been simpler. I'm starting to push myself into deeper waters now and add more energy and dynamics to my work, as well as surroundings and depth.

Well, thanks again, everyone...I look forward to sharing more of my work here. Also, if anybody has any requests for monster art, or anything really, feel free to contact me!

 oooooooooooo....dragon.......wow! The other monsters are great, but I'm definately impressed with dragonball......yup, it's official, your on my top 10 list! ;)

Keep up the good work and definately show us more!

Wow, thank you very much, Malessa! That drawing is one I'm really happy with myself...almost hesitant to finish it for fear of mucking it up, lol...but, it's now top on my list to be inked and colored ;)

Check my gallery here on ENWorld, I'm putting more stuff into it as I go.

Also, for those who wanted to see my figure drawings,I'll be putting them in as I touch them up. Many are in semi-finished states, so the females are semi-nudes, and I'm not sure what ENWorld standards are for showing anatomic detail. Nothing erotic, mind you, but still, I wouldn't want to cause a stir here.

Anyway, thanks again, and I'll be showing more soon!

This is terrific stuff. I love your control with the shadows, and, in particular, the "technical" quality to the alien skull. It really looks just like a textbook piece, which moves it into almost being a story in itself. It isn't just about the skull--it's about the fact that soembody drew this skull.

I can imagine coming across this piece as evidence in a DG scenario.
