New Magical Items = Cloak of Star-light

First Post
This black cloak looks like an ordinary adventurer's cloak, made from finely woven silk and wool threads, making it waterproof. This alone makes it useful. However, when worn and the command word is spoken, a soft, continuious silvery glow eminates from the cloak, as if a continious light spell has been cast upon the wearer.

All characters within the radius of the light are under the influence of a protection from evil 10ft radius. Mindless undead creatures cannot cross the barrier of light.

Alteration. CL 10 lvl. Craft wonderous item. Continuous light. Protection from evil. Repel vermin (modified to affect undead). Cost 10,000gp

I don't know... the thing about Vermin is that, while they can get big, they're always dumb. (Vermin are never the BBEG, unlike Liches, for example.)

If you limit the "hedging out" effect to only mindless undead, I think you're on target. (BTW, you could specify the range of light, even though it's implicit in the continual light effect. My party has long ago abandoned torches and their 20 ft. radius of light.)

I thought the same thing - though I was thinking of allowing a save to resist it, instead of it just being mindless. (And I also thought of vampires, not liches. They're cooler. :D ) I suppose either would work - but if you keep it as is, 10k is probably far too little, unless you don't use undead much in your game.
