Pathfinder 1E New Pathfinder Is Up

The site must be getting pummeled - I can't get to "My Downloads" this morning. :(

1PM: Got it - and the skills have changed. Gotta read through it soon - my group decided to use the Alpha 1 skill rules and I need to see what and why the changes were made.

Bummer. Looks like the people wanting complicated skills mostly got their way. Not a surprise, but I dared hope.

*shrug*

Looks like it really is going more the direction of "the same thing you had before", which I guess works for those that want as close to 100% backwards compatability as possible. I wish 'em luck with it, but it looks like it's just going to be another houseruled game if I play it.

No way they're going to be able to make everyone happy. I just wish I wasn't on the other side of the majority. :(

It's supposed to be a d10 (page 35).
Ah. Good catch.

It's what I assumed anyway (it'd make sense.)

The Fighter's quite cool too. And the Wizard's shaping up pretty well.

I see some things from my house rules here - by coincidence - like Elves having Ranger or Wizard as their favoured class. Likewise, races that aren't Human or Half-Elf having an equivalent choice.

I don't like Halflings having the same ability score bonuses as Elves, however. For not much reason other than "I'd like them to be different." Yeah, that's some powerful reasoning, I know. :D Also, Halflings having Wizard as one favoured class choice. Just doesn't feel right, or something.

Can't think what else would work better though, right this moment, so I'll shut up. For now.

Go to the My Downloads sections and grab the Alpha (Print version). Took me awhile to find it :)
Thanks for the tip; I have it now.

The sorcerer bloodlines are a very good, but not overwhelming, addition. I'm also glad they went back to a skill system more like 3.5's. (I enjoyed being able to take one rank in many knowledge skills for my wizard.) I dislike the new layout for spells and magic items - I find it very hard to read. (Perhaps that's because I'm looking at it one screen; I'll print those pages out and see if it's more readable on the page.)

I actually do think the new skill system is closer to satisfying everybody. The math is definitely MUCH simpler than it was before.

Mmm. It's going to satisfy the majority. At the end of the day, that's whom it's being written for. I'm just wishing that my desire was the majority is all. Nothing new there. :)

My dislike of the skill system isn't just a math thing.
