This is the setting that ripped off Alphatia from "Dawn of Empires"

Ah. This must be a new meaning of "ripped off" that I wasn't aware of before.

and added 'halflings-in-Dinotopia' right?

Clearly a ripoff of the Five Shires. There can be no other interpretation.

I gave it a 9. I think it has a fantastic feel and a ton of flavor. Certainly one of the best settings I have encountered.

Gave it a three, I echo what the Monkeyman said. Unoriginal regions killed it for me, but it has enough redeeming qualities to keep it out of the 1 category.

funny that's what i think about the Forgettable Realms.

i give Eberron a 7 in comparison.

The best part of the Forgettable Realms is that you get not one, but three copies of each unoriginal region. Buy in bulk, and save!

LoL. I guess I simply can't be critical of anything without shots taken back at me. I was quoted and FR was mentioned so yes, I believe it was directed at me personally.

Oh well, some people don't want to be grown up that's fine.

I am one of the weirdos that gave it a 10. It's the first setting in a long time to make me want to DM again. It's easy for new people to get into as the are things like the modern world (just using magic), and it was not very new rules heavy. Keithspends a great deal of personal time chatting with fans about the setting, and we get weekly Dragonshards. That's more support than FR or GH. So I'm a happy camper.

I went seven. It's well enough assembled, and has some decent ideas, but really didn't interest me enought to make me want to play it as some other settings have.

I gave it an 8 and while that maybe one point too high, the setting is still young and direction is still good and I like it for a couple of reason. While maintaining "greatest common denominator" of fantasy it is different enough to be noticable and pull away from the euro-Medieval fantasy world, it is enjoyable to play, and it reminds me of Earthdawn.

I placed an 8 on the ranking, I almost said it was a 7 because it tries to do too much. But in the end, I went for an 8 because of a solid setting and support (City of Sharn is by far the best city book I've read) and the setting doesn't come with loads of new rules that are hard to get your players to use (the Iron Kingdoms for instance, though I love that setting).

Every time I look at Sharn, I see Coruscant; every time I look at Coruscant, I see Manhattan-as-envisaged by the World's Fair types, with zeppelins docking at skyscrapers and autogyros buzzing around. Every time I look at Manhattan-as-envisaged by the World's Fair types, I see Crimson Skies. Every time I look at Crimson Skies, I think how much I'd rather just play a Crimson Skies RPG than try to shoehorn it into fantasy.

So, not really interested in Eberron. (Or is it Ebberon?) Too much genre-straddle for my tastes.
