Yeah they've mentioned before that the redbox won't have all the conditions and will be somewhat streamlined.

My guess is GdG falls in there as a rule a newbie doesn't really need to know about so much.

Let them play with the fun rules for a while until the "short circuit" ones come up.

I think it's a jump to think CdG is gone, it's just not a part of the condition. It'll be mentionned in the corner case paragraph, and in the combat section they'll point out CdG and it's requirements.
