New Scarred Lands Story Hour (plug)

Tuerny

First Post
Hello, I am cashing in my free plug on the main boards to let you know about my new story hour, Shadows Over Shelzar.

The campaign is intended, as implied by the name, to take place largely in and around the Pleasure City of Shelzar. It is intended to focus on a mix of political intrigue, high adventure, and the darkness that is found at the heart of the Scarred Lands setting.

Every person, no matter how just has their own dark secrets and hidden motivations. Even the nominally pure and just followers of Corean and Madriel are wary in this city. Noone knows when someone who is your "friend" could really be an ally of some dark cabal or criminal consortium.
Only the smart and powerful are able to survive and prosper. Anyone else is either destroyed or pushed down into the mud of the numerous shanty towns beyond the walls of the city.

Here is a quick excerpt:

With a growl and a sudden look of determination mixed with rage he roared at both of them “I…am…not...selling my mustache jewelry!”

Have fun :)

Well the players are playing 4th level characters.

Currently the group is composed of:

Rautho of the Frost Wyrm Tribe, a courtier and warrior from the distant lands of Albadia who has had to flee to Shelzar after sleeping with a king's daughter. (barbarian/courtier)

Geb Farrow, an aging mercenary fighter whose wife just mysteriously died and whose child disappeared years ago (on his 18th birthday). He has come to Shelzar to attach himself with the Meeka family who owes him a favor from many years ago. (fighter)

Izala Meeka, the niece of Sazeer Meeka, she disappeared into the wilderness with the emergence of her strange mental powers many years ago. She retuned a few months ago and is now seeking to reconnect with her family, mainly her uncle Sazeer, since noone else seems to be alive.
(psion-telepath)

Seyrn Lerramir, an elven exotic dancer and information broker, Seryn works as an exotic dancer by night and gathers information for the rich and powerful by day. She has worked for Sazeer Meeka in the past and he is one of her main clients. (rogue)

The last is an unnamed halfling sorcerer (he will have a name soon though) who is from the Heteronomy of Virduk. He is part of Ozru's rebel band and has come to Shelzar to watch the Calastian Embassy and to meet up his contact, a man by the name of Sazeer Meeka..... (sorcerer).

What sort of other background info would you like?

:)

Seyrn Lerramir, Exotic Dancer and Information Broker

Seyrn stands of an average height for her people, and of an average weight. In Shelzar, this causes the elven woman to be looked down upon rather often. Though hardly in the measure of esteems. Well-known for her talents in dancing, Seyrn is usually well-paid to match. Most don't know about her "night job", however - where she is equally prized for her skills.

Golden blond hair and piercing green eyes set her apart in a crowd to be certain, as well does her almost alabaster skin. Among the dark and dusky people of Shelzar, Seyrn is considered a delightful delicacy to behold. A force of personality radiates from her already exotic beauty. It is difficult to be exotic in a land of exotics, but Seyrn manages it somehow.

Where she is usually seen dressed in rich colors and costuming for her performances, she has a black silken body suit and other more 'functional' clothing when attending to other matters.

She has no illusions about her work. And even fewer about the world around her. Employed by Sazeer Meeka many times in the past, she trusts him - "So long as I am useful to him, I may trust him." When her usefulness runs out, she only hopes she will be aware of it, because it is then - in her mind - that she can no longer trust him.

Some view her as amoral in the way she handles situations that require kit-gloves. Seyrn believes in doing what the situation at hand calls for, regardless of society's ... squeamishness. Her first loyalty lies with her goddess, Drendari. She carries a small smokey quartz statue, which she prays over before each job. And in thanks after the successful completion of it. Her second loyalty is to herself, though she has a soft spot for those she is assigned to work with - sometimes 'adopting' them into her 'care' for the duration.

Most of her shows are held in a little festhall known as "The Palace of No Veils", where she works for a halfling entrepreneur by the name of Coto. Seyrn is well protected, and looked after. Her employer is kept in the 'unawares' as to her other work, but always sees a cut of the pay for the "private performances" for which Seyrn regularly takes off work.
