New Spell: Seebora's Spirit Claws

Vlos

First Post
My current main character is a wild halfling Shaman/Shape Changer. I thought of this as a new spell to aid her during her fighting (in wildshape forms).

Please give your feed back with any changes, appropriate level, etc.

Thanks for your time.
Vlos/Seebora

Spell: Seebora's Spirit Claws
Level: 3
Components: V,S,M
Casting Time: Standard Action
Range: Personal
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes
Duration: 1 round/level
Description:
Seebora calls on the spirits to enchant her natural attacks to rip apart a foe's spirit.

When this spell is cast the caster's choses a natural attack, which is enchanted with a strong spiritual power. When the caster makes attacks with the natural weapon they do normal damage plus add an additional 1d4 + (+1 / 2 levels) of Spiritual damage.

A creature with Spell Resistance is allowed a check to see if the spell effects them once the first time they are hit by the caster. A successful check means they are not effected by this casting of the spell but would still take normal damage from the attack.

Cool concept, but a few things.

I think it would read better if the "but add" was replaced by plus, no biggie though.

Divine spells are usually named after the god, whereas the arcane ones are named after the creater.

Does the spell do damge to the person? Or the soul, I reckon it would work better if it was nonlethal damage that when they went unconscious they could awaken untill they had healed all the damage. If you want to keep it as is and still have it kill then make it so that rais dead won't work, but higher rasing spells will. Something like "When the victim dies, due to a lack of soul the creature can only be raised by a raising spell of 5th or higher level."

Removed the section about raising a spirit that was slain by the spell powers so it now just add spirit damage to attacks. Sort of like Shocking Grasp
