I think that things are always a matter of taste, but I really liked Kelvin 3. Much more than Kelvin 2.
Kelvin 2 was so bad, that not only did I not hive Kelvin 3 a chance, I haven't even watched any Star Trek since. It was a complete and total shark jump moment for me...which is impressive, since I outlasted Enterprise.

I still haven't watched Beyond for the same reason. The original Wrath of Khan worked so very well because we had an emotional attachment to the characters from the original series that we didn't have, will likely never have, with the JJ series. And when Spock died in WoK back in 1982 we all thought he was really dead. We didn't necessarily expect the Star Trek franchise to continue with additional movies or a new series.
