Really? I think it's their best take on a spell-less ranger yet. <shrug>

I agree it's clear that they were looking to provide a spell-less Ranger alternative, but they were so careful to try not to step on the Ranger's toes that there's nothing interesting about this kit. Each other kit had cool abilities or unique mechanics - the scout is so vanilla.

It needs just one cool ability/mechanic that aligns with it's "spell-less Ranger" concept, but without retreading ground that's already been covered with the actual Ranger.

I agree with both of you. It is the best spell-less ranger yet, but it does not have enough flavor.
