D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana: Heroes of Krynn Revisited

WotC's Jeremy Crawford has announced a new Unearthed Arcana article today with redesigns from the prior Heroes of Krynn UA based on feedback, and in the following video he discusses that feedback and what's in the article:
  • New iteration of Kender based on feedback survey, due to mixed response. This time is a back to basics, aiming to capture 1E AD&D fearlessness, curiosity and taunting skills. Delve into their origins from Gnomes in deep history.
  • Kender are no longer fey creatures who grab objects from the Feywild
  • Tweaked Feats from prior article
  • Tweaked Backgrounds from prior article
  • Brand new rule giving a list of free Feats for ANY Background
  • Free Feat rule for Level 4 for all characters that doesn't take the ASI away, based on a curated list
  • Reveals that in the Adventure, healing magic is already back.

No. I pointed out that the a single vague sentence isn't helpful, not that alignment isn't useful.
do we have more?
Alignment should be a bit more detailed so as to let new players understand it better. And no a LG society cannot engage in child sacrifice. A misunderstanding of LG due to one vague sentence is how that could occur, though.
I mean we most likely shouldnt but is there anything in 5e alignment info preventing it?
awful good (LG) creatures can be counted on to do the right thing as expected by society. Gold dragons, paladins, and most dwarves are lawful good.

Neutral good (NG) folk do the best they can to help others according to their needs. Many celestials, some cloud giants, and most gnomes are neutral good.

Chaotic good (CG) creatures act as their conscience directs, with little regard for what others expect. Copper dragons, many elves, and unicorns are chaotic good.

Lawful neutral (LN) individuals act in accordance with law, tradition, or personal codes. Many monks and some wizards are lawful neutral.

Neutral (N) is the alignment of those who prefer to steer clear of moral questions and don’t take sides, doing what seems best at the time. Lizardfolk, most druids, and many humans are neutral.

Chaotic neutral (CN) creatures follow their whims, holding their personal freedom above all else. Many barbarians and rogues, and some bards, are chaotic neutral.

Lawful evil (LE) creatures methodically take what they want, within the limits of a code of tradition, loyalty, or order. Devils, blue dragons, and hobgoblins are lawful evil.

Neutral evil (NE) is the alignment of those who do whatever they can get away with, without compassion or qualms. Many drow, some cloud giants, and goblins are neutral evil.

Chaotic evil (CE) creatures act with arbitrary violence, spurred by their greed, hatred, or bloodlust. Demons, red dragons, and orcs are chaotic evil.

It seemed like kind of missed opportunity, too, not to include the non-combat maneuvers (Commanding Presence/Tactical Assessment), but I guess they don't want to pull in non-core books for something like this?
Again: DM Fiat. You can clearly interchange/swap out stuff for your own campaigns and what not when utilizing the Dragonlance souped up backgrounds approach.

So, Knights of Solamnia Monks/Friars can have both Patient Defense as well as Parry or Riposte should they choose too. (Theory Crafting here.) So aside from Ki points, now you can add Superiority Die towards the mitigation of damage. Then there's Flurry of Strikes. So the main attack could be a Combat Maneuver followed by Flurry's Unarmed attacks.

Knights of Solamnia Warlocks (Witch Knights?), specifically Hexblades. Quite Gishy in a way and the Spellcasting, while being Warlock Spellcasting, seems like a nice option if you wanted to do a low magic type style of campaign and didn't want magic overshadowing things too much.

Hmm, the Paladin/Warlock multiclass with Squire of Solamnia+Knightly Orders. That's 8 Superiority Die+Warlock Spellcasting.

It's more than 8 superiority dice. 2 each from the orders and then more equal to your proficiency bonus from Squire. You're bonus is going to be higher than 2 by the time you multiclass and get all of the orders through feats. :)

Exactly, much more interesting.

Or Bladesinger (With extra Attack) Knights with Booming Blade and Pushing attack forcing the enemy to stand there or take the booming damage to engage on their turn.

I am kind of in favour of it but monster challenge ratings will have to be looked at again. Or the daily XP budget guidelines could do with some revision for this level of activity.
