D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana: Heroes of Krynn Revisited

WotC's Jeremy Crawford has announced a new Unearthed Arcana article today with redesigns from the prior Heroes of Krynn UA based on feedback, and in the following video he discusses that feedback and what's in the article:
  • New iteration of Kender based on feedback survey, due to mixed response. This time is a back to basics, aiming to capture 1E AD&D fearlessness, curiosity and taunting skills. Delve into their origins from Gnomes in deep history.
  • Kender are no longer fey creatures who grab objects from the Feywild
  • Tweaked Feats from prior article
  • Tweaked Backgrounds from prior article
  • Brand new rule giving a list of free Feats for ANY Background
  • Free Feat rule for Level 4 for all characters that doesn't take the ASI away, based on a curated list
  • Reveals that in the Adventure, healing magic is already back.

It doesn't matter, I fail my saving throw. It is the same useless conversation about alignment that has been going on for over 40 years. Nothing is going to be resolved instead of the much more interesting one about free feats giving combat manouvers.
The bolded is 99% of the problem. 5e doesn't have the mechanics tied to it that the prior years had, so nothing you experienced prior to 5e is appropriate to be used in current discussions. It's apples and oranges.

Every single time I've heard someone complain about alignment since 5e came out, it has been one of two situations. 1) a problem encountered prior to 5e. 2) the DM or player misusing alignment. Neither of those are alignment issues.

5e alignment is purely an RP tool, so it should be expanded to the point where new players can actually understand it.
i somewhat agree it needs to either be removed or expanded but I just don't see anything in 5e lawful good that means anything really...Lawful good (LG) creatures can be counted on to do the right thing as expected by society. is really nothing

Best typo ever.

It's more than 8 superiority dice. 2 each from the orders and then more equal to your proficiency bonus from Squire. You're bonus is going to be higher than 2 by the time you multiclass and get all of the orders through feats. :)
Oh wait, that's right: Knights of Solamnia can progress through their orders starting from Squire and all the way up to Knights of the Rose (Lore wise), correct?

I will say, if we can't even get a requirement for non good Black Robes, and have issues handling a God of Evil Magic?

Just don't touch Planescape at all, ever. The community can't handle alignment or likely Gods. Entire Planes of Alignment? Debates over LG vs NG vs LN? LOL right...

Kenders didn't need radical changes about the racial traits, only some retouchs in the background for a softer gameplay. Maybe with the right players in an actual-play new show they could become popular again, funny and not annoying.

I hope we to see more titles about Dragonlance, but I guess then we should see previous UA articles with more PC races.

What if Krynn is the batlefield between two or more chronomancer factions? Because they can't agree about what is the true "sacred timeline". Or in the alternate apocalyptic future the supreme deity Raitslin opened a planar gate to Athas to repopulate the Krynnspace with refugees, but also for other realities, for example our reality (a good excuse for an "isekai" story). Or the famous Raistlin's daughter appears, even when her father really didn't was with a woman, but she is a "living meme", an urban legend becoming real, whose true origin is the demiplane of the dream-realms. This demiplane is being invaded by dream-eater creatures from the Far-Realm, and Chaos is the indirectly responsible.

* I was thinking Taladas is perfect as Dragonlance spin-off for an actual-play show, but minotaur's horns aren't very practical.

* I miss the 3.5 knight class. If a 3PP can publish then WotC also. Maybe it could be like the paladin, but ki martial maneuvers instead divine spells.

* Could Tiamat to send dragonspawns to Krynnspace to help Takishins' invasion? But then they may too busy stopping Vodoni's infiltration.

Could Tiamat to send dragonspawns to Krynnspace to help Takishins' invasion?
Yes. Especially since Takishi is a Dragon Echo of Tiamat according to the new 5E Fizban's Treasury of Dragons book. So, if Tiamat wanted to, she could legit send any of her Dragonspawn to Krynnspace to support the invasion. Also meaning you can have Arkhan the Cruel (with Hand of Vecna as well mind you) along with his Dark Order to assist the invasion/kill PC parties.
