New Vader Costume for Episode III?

The mask was Vader's Voice anyway, IIRC when he's got the mask off in 6, his voice is totally different.

Very true. But as soon as the mask goes on, his voice has to be The Voice.

If they make it so he doesn't have to have a mask yet, they can get away with it, but hearing that Voice for the first time in these movies would be one of the most defining moments possible. They have to do it, IMO.

I know that Lucas did get James earl Jones to do more voice work for Ep.3. So the voice will be there, just not sure how much of the Vader voice we all know and love love will be there.

But he's not allowed at all! Vader is EEEEVIL and everyone knows that EEEEVIL people never ever ever change their clothes. Look at the Emperor! Don't you think those robes need a wash after all those years? ;)
Of course not. You don't know the power of the dark side. ;)

Brand New Imperial Laundry detergent - with added Dark Side Power!

I think Anakin needs to get a power chip that he can raise up into the air and yell out "Dark Force Evolution commence!" and this will summon the Dark Suit from the digital dimension so that he merges into the cyborg form we all know and love - but with optional extras that he can summon at will - like say a Dark Light Saber and a Dark Force Megablast!

MWHAHAHAHAHA!

Okay I think Vader IS the combo of suit and voice - and digital technology ought to be able to give us the voice!

Or maybe he'll yell

"ITS MORPHING TIME!, SITHZORD!"

And we'll see a giant cgi deathstar mold around him to form his suit :-p

Interesting. But does that mean that Vader will be making the stormtroopers to buy their communication services from Verizon?

The new suit will have nipples for sex appeal.

We haven't had the usual Star Wars rant thread in a few weeks so here is a little fuel for the fire. ;)

Oh joy. We don't get enough Lucas-bashing around here.

Me? I don't think it's a big deal and am looking forward to seeing how they handle it in the film. Costumes have always been a strong point of the series.

That picture is too fuzzy to really make much of a judgement on it.

Also, there is a time span of 18 years btween the end of Episode III and Star Wars, so one could always assume that minor changes happened to the costume over time.

That's a good point. I thought it was actually different for each film. For example, the eyes on the suit in IV were lighter than the other films. It could have been the lighting or I could just be flat out wrong.

No, the eyes are somewhat transparent in Star Wars. At the end of the movie, you can see the actor's eyes underneath the helmet during some of the shot in the TIE fighter.

Not to mention that the armor was dull in EPIV and much more reflective and shiny in the later movies.
