There are people in the world without VISA Debit cards?
VISA/Mastercard and co are highly uncommon in Germany, for example. I only got one because I went to the USA a few times. Now it is has become somewhat useful for me if I ever want something from the US or similar sources, but in Germany it is more likely to be useless than useful.

We have ec-cards.

I think 99% of people in Norway has a Visa debit card and you can use cards basically everywhere. In fact, I don't really use cash any more. (Although the visa-part of my bank-card isn't used in Norway, just usual Norwegian one).

Visa credit cards aren't usual at all as the interest is maybe 20%...

I don't understand why people don't want to use Paypal. I can understand people not wanting to use credit/debit cards online to prevent idendity theft, but isn't paypal supposed to be a safe and conveinient alternative?

They have some history of freezing peoples' accounts and simply hanging on to their money, with little or no recourse. Happened to Morrus once, in fact.

I asked about this a while back. Although they're ubiquitous in some countries (in the US it's pretty much impossible to get a checking account without one unless you're really, really trying to), debit cards linked to Visa/MasterCard are apparently somewhat rare in others.

But I generally use a real credit card.
