D&D 3E/3.5 Newer/3.5e version of Shade template?

When reading Anauroch - The Empire of Shade, I found that Shades in this book have slightly different abilities than the Shads in Forgotten Realm Campaign Setting have.

For example, the shades in Anauroch have low-light vision and Shield of Shadows ability.

Was Shade template updated further after PGtF web enhancement was released?

Taking a quick look through Anauroch - The Empire of Shade, I think the shades get low-light vision from the 2nd level of the shadow adept prestige class (Player's Guide to Faerun p.72), not part of the shade template.

Thanks. It seems that both Low-Light and Shield of Shadows are coming from that class.
