[News] Tom DeSanto files suit against Gail Gygax

Almost two years ago, movie producer Tom DeSanto made a deal with Gail Gygax to "oversee the Gygax catalogue of published and unpublished works," according to Variety.com. However, DeSanto is now filing suit against Gail Gygax, according to Courthouse News Service:

LOS ANGELES (CN) — Tom DeSanto — producer of “Xmen” and “Transformers” — sued Gail Gygax — the widow of Gary Gygax, creator of “Dungeons & Dragons,” claiming they formed a partnership to exploit the brand, but she tried to negotiate a video game deal without him, in L.A. Superior Court.

Wow. Can’t say I’m surprised, though. It’s really discouraging to see how little has actually come from the Gygax Memorial Foundation/Fund over the years. So far, the biggest things they’ve accomplished have been to pull all of the Gygax IP licenses from their publishers, and shut down Gygax magazine.

Yeah, I enjoyed Gygax and was hoping for more stuff since they shutdown Castle Zygag and TLG. The primary value of his IP was to grognards like myself I think and the longer this drags on the less value it holds but maybe I'm wrong.
