D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Could be. Personally I lean towards it being a Species book, adding the seven new Species, but also exploring the lore of Species in MOM & maybe the Eberron Species. Like AoF does the PHB races and this 3rd DLC does all these other Species both the 7 new ones, MOM Species and Maybe a few from other sources, maybe FR lore for the Spelljammer Species as well, they are AL legal after all.

Or the delayed announcement could be to tie into another product, but if so what product?
Well, 7 Species doesn't tke much in the way of pahexoujt, and the indications are that these DLC books are fairly significant. I think there's more to it than the Species write-ups.

Flashing out DM-centric Gszateers of the 5 other Locales from Neroes is just a guess, but it would fit.

That would surprise me, but it would be interesting to see what they do with the setting.
We know there is some aort of Kara-Tjr material in the print books, given how prominent they have centered the Spirit Dragon on the player's book cover and in marketing.

Updating Kara-Tur tastefully would be a tall gasket, maybe worthy of a significant supplement like this.

The idea is fascinating, but (keeping in mind that I'm terrible at making predictions), I would expect a new Kara-Tur to be a relatively large endeavor, with many and varied authors and consultants with many different Asian backgrounds, so something like a full product and not a supplement.

I think Genasi in the 2024 format can be printed as 1 species with 4 different legacies/affinities/whatever.

Reborn could be reprinted, as I think Dhampirs would be actual humanoids despite the vampirism, but Reborn would be the actual Undead PC species.

Yeah, if they tackle Kara-Tur again, given all of the stuff they need to get right, they're going to make a much bigger effort than a DLC. (I would still bet against them ever fully engaging with Kara-Tur or Maztica again, though, especially now that they have the Radiant Citadel settings.)

Large is in needing a well-thought out approach, yes...but large page count? Maybe not.

I agree with it likely being too large to be a DLC, but we thought Calimshan would seemingly be untouchable, so other non-Western flavored regions don't seem to be permanently off the table any more. Im sure they're looking to see how the updated version of Calimshan is received, and if it's viewed favorably, they could very well branch out into other non-Western locations.

I hadn't heard of the same issues surrounding Calimsham as I had around Kara-Tur and Maztica. Just being non-Western isn't the issue with those two settings -- it's the execution. (Especially with Maztica.)
