Giants have a good shot with more info on Ogres, Trolls, and other giant-kin.

Constructs would be awesome

Fey- not high on my list but I would no doubt still buy

Not as much use but Magical Beasts and animals

Dire, Monsterous, Fiendish and Celestial and how magic/psionics alter them.

oh and elemental types.....

#1 Giants
#2 Constructs
#3 Fey

Everytime this thread appears, I say the same thing.

FEY.

Start with the mischevious fey like sprites, satyrs, etc. Then add the guardians of nature (dryads and nymphs), wrap it up with the unseelie evil fey.

Lots of Druid/Sorcerer spells, new prestige classes like summoners and "raised by the fey", feats that get you "in tune with nature" (heh). Its practically a no-brainer.

Plus, they could get some sweet art for it. Like Semi-Nekkid Nymphs!

Fingers Still Crossed.

well they are pattern after the FOR series. so drow and giants are definitely on the list.

I would like to see books on Fey, Outsiders, Magical Beasts, Constructs and Giants eventually. Next up, I would guess, would be either Constructs, Fey or Giants.

I hope the Outsider book (assuming they ever make one) has modrons in it. :( Where are my damn modrons??

Demons and celestials basically have the BoVD and BoED, respectively. I guess you could do more though, but still…

And of course don’t forget the “races of” books have the PHB races covered.

Not yet done are:
Animal
Construct
Elemental
Fey
Giant
Humanoid
Magical Beast
Monstrous Humanoid
Ooze
Plant
Vermin

The question is, do any of these have enough to stand on their own as a book? I think some of them definitely do.

Humanoid – you have orcs, goblinoids, kobolds, lizardfolk, gnolls, as well as merfolk and locathah. Plenty of room to work with there.

Monstrous Humanoid – you have the centaur, doppelganger, kuo-toa, minotaur, sahuagin, derro, medusa & harpy, and yaun-ti.

Those two could be merged into a single book, and arguably you could even fit Fey and Giants in there – while interesting enough in their own way, I don’t think Fey or Giants have enough to sustain a book on their own to get the $$.

Magical Beast has plenty of potential when you look at the sheer volume of critters: unicorn & pegasus, lammasu, kraken, aranea, basilisk, displacer beast, giant eagle & owl, manticore, lamia, gorgon… etc. :)

As for the rest of the creature types… I don’t know. though conceivably, if you can invent enough material, you can do a book on just about any of these.

Manual of the Planes web enhancement, if you really need them that badly.

Which I guess you would if you were running some of the old Planescape modules or sumpin.

EDIT: I would like to see a book on constructs!
