Next Monster centered book?

While a Draconomicon-style book on fiends would be extremely cool, I don't think it's very likely they'll make one. BoVd covers a lot of this ground already, and Fiend Folio has some nice fiend material too.

So I'm guessing it will be giants or fey next. Which is fine by me! I'd definitely buy a good Draconomicon-style book on either of those. Especially since giants and fey are the two major monster types for Vikings D20...

The 'lothanomicon. Or if we want to go with extant names, The Book of Keeping.

Or 'how to get screwed over by a fiend 101'. ;)

But seriously, I'd like a fey book myself.

Fey. And not the nice Disneyfied fey, the wild, utterly amoral Seelie/Unseelie ones, and the ones that embody the natural world in all it's gory glory.

If not that, then Constructs.

I predict they'll do Demons/Devils next with Giants after that.

What I want is a book on evil/bad-guy Fey (but they can include silly good fey too if they have to do so).

Not yet done are:
Animal
Construct
Elemental
Fey
Giant
Humanoid
Magical Beast
Monstrous Humanoid
Ooze
Plant
Vermin

The question is, do any of these have enough to stand on their own as a book?
Let's see:

Animal: Well, what do you want to put in such a book? Draw by numbers?

Construct: I really like those. It would have to be something really exciting, though, in order to get me interested, given the cool books that are already available in this field.

Elemental: No interest. I always found them bland.

Fey: Something along the lines of Birthright would be great :).

Giant: Trolls and Ogres have been covered in several books so far, and the others don't interest me. I found already 'Lords of the Peaks' boring.

Humanoid: I like those, but I have 'Races of Faerun' or 'Wrath and Rage'. I don't really know what to expect from such a book to make it outstanding, although I really like to use them in campaigns :).

Magical Beast: Valid choice.

Monstrous Humanoid: A few of them might be interesting. Grimlocks, hags, harpies, kuo-toa? Why not :).

Ooze: Definitely not a stand-alone.

Plant: I found this category always intriguing. On the other hand, I have already quite a lot of sourcebooks with plant-type creatures.

Vermin: This is probably a good choice for a disgusting supplement. Lots of swarms to make your players hate you.

Trendspotting, it will probably be fey, given the series of Fey Feature articles on the WotC website. No point wasting all the thought and development that has been sunk into that.

Elementals would be interesting, especially if WotC combined the environment series with the monster series - Encyclopedia Elementaire (aka Fallcrushdrownscorch), maybe.

The Big Book of Giants is a possibility, but I don't see it as very likely.

What would be interesting would be the Tribal Tablets - Humanoid Hordes for every campaign. Goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears, kobolds, lizardmen, troglodytes, orcs, gnolls, etc. I think there's a lot of potential in making each humanoid race distinctive and memorable.

Genies/Elementals - There's so much greatness in Al-Qadim just waiting to be mined and made more portable. We need tasked genies and a common genie language back, along with a more 3x-friendly Shi'ar along with an updated City of Glass and other locations. (I'm hoping the Necromancer City of Brass and related adventure book cover a lot of this material if nothing else.)

Fey - Although WotC would likely make it fairly cutesy, if their online feature is any indication.

Giants - There's actually a lot they can do here, especially if they can get past Norse myth and culture for fire and frost giants.
