D&D (2024) Next Playtest Packet?

Better to say, if it doesn't come out this week or next week, it's not going to come out on the week of 4th for sure.
Yeah, that makes more sense to me. IF it doesn't drop on the 26th, like it ought to, then it's probably the 10th. Of course, these dates are Mondays, which IIRC only the last one dropped on a Monday. The others dropped on Thursdays, I believe, so I suppose we could see it on June 29. Probably not July 6th, but possibly.

That's possible, though it makes little sense - holidays don't get in the way of things that come out before them. The packet is due this week, based on the schedule that they set. That said, I think that they only ever made ONE of the playtest's "deadlines", so their track record is not what we'd call "good".

I guess we'll see soon enough!
Independence Day is a big vacation holiday in the US. Any packet dropped next week runs the risk of being forgotten. Further, it will be a bad time to try to get people to playtest it during those weeks. It runs the risk of being forgotten about in the lead up. Ergo why I suspect the week of the July 10th is the most likely date.

I could be wrong though.

I'd be surprised to find someone anywhere in the world who is unaware of that. (Barring isolated societies, I suppose).

That would be a convenient excuse to explain why it's late this time!

I'm just saying that there is a very good chance a lot of key people who get those packets ready have PTO in the next two weeks...

What do people do onvacation, if not indulge in their hobbies...? The week before a big Holiday seems a perfect time to drop this, so people can digest it at their leisure before WotC starts collecting feedback later next month.

That seems like another argument that they will drop this by the end of next week, so they can leave on their vacation and then start collecting feedback when they get back into the office...?

Well, some travel or visit family or throw parties, all of which aren't contusive to reading PDFs.

I mean, forget just reading PDFs, my experience of 4th of July is conducive with busting out some dice and paper and taking rules out forma test. But my family is cool, and that's how we party...?

Anyways, expecting hobbyists to digest the rules in the few weeks after the PDF drops doesn't seem impractical, and coinciding the drop with the team going on vacation makes sense: they won't start collecting feedback for a few weeks, dropping the test and going out of office just fits.
