[NFL] Bears name rookie QB as starter

If they have someone like Ben Rothlesburger (sp?), then they might have a shot... until it gets to the playoffs and the "rookieness" shows thru from the sheer pressure of the "do-or-die" mentality of the playoffs. That was Ben's undoing. The pressure of the playoffs. But before then, he was a great rookie quarterback.

Ben was not a great rookie QB, he was a good one on a great team. As a huge Steeler fan, and seeing all their games he limited his mistakes and made a few great plays. But the burden was on the defense and the running game more then the QB. If the Bears had someone like Ben, he wouldn;'t do as good as the Bears otrher players just are not as good.

I was going more by hearsay than actual seeing the games. They don't show too many Pittsburgh games in this area for some reason... We get stuck with Packers games! Or Redskins. I can't even watch my other team: the Cowboys too often... But I do get my Panthers games of course since they're the local guys! :D

And Hutchinson sucked. He's fallen from 1st on the depth chart to, well, off.

wonder why he stuck in Dallas for so long then, Parcells is usually a good judge of football talent

I think chicago is screwed... cedric's still not under contract. Kyle Orton had a subpar senior season, and has only produced in the preseason against second string defenses. Realistically, I wonder what the situation will even end up being with cedric now that he can reason that he'll be worth more to them w/o a good qb.

G'luck w/ them though, because my steelers are looking troubled at the moment as well.

Being a Jags fan, I'm very much looking forward to the season. :)

And I'm *very* much looking forward to playing Pittsburgh. For some reason, of all the Jags opponents, I enjoy playing the Steelers the most.

IIRC, Orton was leading the Heisman race for half the season, then got hurt, tried to play through it, and didn't do very well.

It seems from previous experiences to try to steer AWAY from Heisman Trophy winners/nominees as they usually pan out when they go pro....

It's almost like it's some sort of curse or something.... :\
