Just as an FYI, Brady's stats through four years, vs all-time greats through the same time frame.

I really don't think He was the MVP in either of the SB he won either. I mean the teams strength is there defense, it should have went to Ted Washington or someone that mattered. Brady is just a posterboy.
Not sure you can give it to TW (run D allowed almost 6 ypc) or the Pat defense in XXXVIII - 3 touchdowns and 251+ yards given up in the 2nd half, en route to giving up the lead twice, wasn't the high point of the D's season.

In Both games, Brady made the drives he had to make in the last few seconds of the games. You could argue for Vinatieri as MVP of the second SB win if you wanted to, but no player had a bigger impact on the Patriot win than Brady

It's not years 1-4 that matter. I wouldn't be at all suprised if some complete busts (or a great many quarterbacks who were very good but not great) had a better first four years than many of the greats listed on that page. Almost without exception, the best quarterbacks in the league are in their 5th to 10th year. That's the major reason why we know Manning is a great quarterback now, and the best in the game today, while the jury's still out on Brady.

QB is the glory position, when in doubt all the good things are reaped on the QB...and all the bad things as well. Since the Patriots play as such a teram, the MVP should have gone top all of them but the QB is always the default.

Right... So Brady is just going to get better... ;) Of course you could be like me and believe that Brady is an exception... :D

I don't really believe this... If I were given the option of having either Brady or Manning on a real NFL team, no fantasy team here, I would pick Brady. I don't see a drop off, Brady made passes on the Thursday that you just don't throw and he completed them easily.

Oh and the salary cap clenches the deal... If Manning doesn’t win a Super Bowl this year he isn’t going to win one till he restructures his deal.

Not denigrating Manning at all - and I'm not saying Brady s currently among the best of all-time. Just taking some exception to the previous "Poster boy" comment. You are right - thre are some very good, not great QB's who had terrific starts to their careers, but never amounted to much that was truly exceptional. But no one I can think of that was in that category could be reasonably described as a poster boy.

And, the start to Brady's year 5 was very good, vs. a very good team.
