The hollyphant's mouth is grim. He wondering if the thing might not be stunned like other creatures, and that worry was now confirmed. He concentrates on disappearing again.

(Invisibility again, and then more to 10N60E30Z)

Once successful in becoming invisible and moving away, the hollyphant will wait out the draw, using any down turns to place a cure moderate on himself just in case the storm finds him during the wait-out.

Round 445: The hollyphant is unable to concentrate enough to go invisible. (Rolled 14)

He takes 6 electricity damage and has 9 hp left and is distracted. (Rolled 14 Fort save)

Round 446: The hollyphant moves away. The swarm follows and deals 1 plus 4 electricity. The hollyphant has 4 hp left and is not distracted. (Rolled 21 Fort save)

What does the hollyphant do now?

The hollyphant moves away again, calling a celestial healing upon himself.

(Move again, then cast cure moderate on self)

Then on the next time, move *then* cast invisibility, then move on the next round again and wait it out.

OOC: Arg, I screwed up my sequencing... too hasty, too hasty.

I don't think it was too hasty. That tactic was successful the previous time and is the best option. The hollyphant is sure to die with any other tactic because the swarm will just move to your last location and still attack you while you're invisible (there's no miss chance).

Round 447: The hollyphant heals to 23 hp. The blades follow and cause 2 plus 2 electricity. The hollyphant has 19 hp left and is distracted.

Round 448: The hollyphant takes 7 plus 5 electricity. It has 7 hp left and is distracted.

Round 449: The hollyphant takes 5 plus 8 electricity and is defeated.

Next for NG in round 450: a treant. (MM)

(Crap! Lousy time to keep failing distraction rolls. 'Course the otherside is that I'm trying to play the beasts as not knowing the mechanics of swarms and such - even at best case, the hollyphant's sonic attack couldn't have done anything...)

The treant comes in, but after a round or two of slamming the swarm, he'll leave since he can't do any damage to it.

Next!

I'm not sure that the threskisphinx can hurt the swarm either.

Infiniti, since you have Sandstorm, do you see any creative uses of the sphinx's spells that would generate an Area attack?
