Round 39

The snake seems unaffected. (Rolled 21 Will save)

The snake dives underneath the surface and disappears. Not a single piece of dirt moved when it dived.

oh bother delicately murmurred Summerwind.

Trusting in her magical resistance to anything not cold iron, she continues her glide to 60N60E+5" and hovers on her petal-like magical wings, her dagger readied for anything lurching out of the ground.

(i.e. MEA=move, STD=readied attack)

Summer breathes a delicate sigh, as light as the breath of a rosebud opening. She certainly isn't going to set down on the ground and let the earth-digger attack her tender shootlike feet without warning. She begins to sing a little taunting ditty, dancing about on her wings above the earth.

Silly silly sand snake,
thought it was an earthen drake,
scared by a little fey,
wouldn't it come out and play.

(repeat Readied attack, compress as needed. How big was the thing? I was assuming it was big enough that it could theoretically attack me at 5ft of hover)

Round 41

No, it is as big as the petal, which is tiny. Both of you are the size of a house cat, which means you both have 0 reach.

Nothing appears.

Impatient, Summerwind drifts down, stomps her feet on the ground beneath her and rises back up only a few inches off the ground.

(so MEA to stomp the ground, staying in the "ground square/cube" of reach 0, readied attack if anything boils on up out of the ground. Yeah, this is probably playing a bit towards the chaotic side of the nature, but it's all in fun)

Round 42

The translucent snake comes out of the ground, without a speck of dirt moving. The petal pokes with her dagger but it goes right through the snake!

The snake scales become a dark grey and it strikes. Its fangs plunge deep inside the poor petal! (Rolled natural 20, 19 crit roll) 1 point of damage, which the petal immediately heals!

The result is a draw!

Next up for NG: a half-giant. (EPH) PJSlavner will be conducting the combat with you.

The half-giant goes first in round 43.

Hujarlk stomps in to 60N0E and immediately heads to 60N30E, his greatsword raised and ready in case there is anything fast moving in from the western wall.

(MEA, STD= readied attack)

A small pillar of black smoke with two red cinders, which might be eyes, comes into the arena and flies just above ground to 60N35E.

Hujarlk misses with his readied greatsword (rolled 14), but the smoky pillar sticks out a claw and hits (rolled 17) for 3 points of damage. Hujarlk has 3 HP left. Your move.
