Nick Logue and Wolfgang Baur drink The Blood of the Gorgon together!

Within limits. The first project (Steam & Brass), was only available to the patrons. Later projects were available for purchase for patrons of the following project. Castle Shadowcrag was available for purchase to the first subscribers to Kobold Quarterly, IIRC.

so if i become a patron for the arabian adventure thing, i get that AND the ghoul adventure?!? for 25$?!?!? any chance to have an official confirmation? if that's the case, i'm signing up NOW!

thanks for the info Glyfair! :)

As I understand it, the patrons explicitly pay to have exclusive access to the finished product.

If you get involved in a project, you gain the right to purchase certain older projects - any of them but the first, I think. If you're just looking to get the finished product, the basic membership is the way to go, as the price is reasonable for that.

right. i paid for the 25$ subscription for the gorgon book. now what? should i expect to receive something by email (apart from the paypal stuff) when the ball gets rolling?

also... ehm... how do i contact the open design project? i would really like to have a clear official answer on getting the old modules, before i spend more money, but i don't see to be able to post on their forums, for some reason. :S

Congrats Spell! You're part of Open Design now!

Alright - so now you're subscribed to the Gorgon Book. That means you'll be able to view the daily (or so) updates on the book until the thing is finished. You'll also be able to talk directly to Logue about what he posted, and depending on polls, influence what's going on. When it's done, you'll get a nice new adventure, with your name in it as a contributor, and the option to purchase it through Lulu.

Since you've subscribed, your best bet is to email Wolfgang, or wait for him to post here again. They've got some links or something through Lulu.

I don't know honestly beyond that, because I've been a member of Open Design on every project since #2 (would have done #1 if I would've realized what was going on at the time).

Hi,

I joined Open Design with Empire of the Ghouls, and also signed up for Six Arabian Adventures and now Blood of the Gorgon. The last two projects (and I guess Blood of the Gorgon too) were run through Livejournal. You need to sign up for Livejournal and become a "friend" of Open Design to see the patron-only posts. How much you participate is up to you - Wolfgang generally posts updates every 2-3 days and you can add comments, vote on polls etc or simply read what everyone else says. For all three projects I've only made the minimum donation so I'll let others give their views on what you get for the higher amounts. Anyway, Open Design is great fun and I was very happy with the finished Empire of the Ghouls product.

Cheers

Richard

Yep, you've got mail. And you can contact me or Nick over at the Open Design blog, or in the KoboldQuarterly forums, or... wherever. We're whaddya call it, "netizens."

As a member of the Blood of the Gorgon project, you can pick up the Six Arabian Nights project. As a member of Six Arabian Nights, you can pick up Empire of the Ghouls. They're all limited editions, though, and won't be offered forever.

Castle Shadowcrag and Steam & Brass are essentially run out of their edition.

So if I join now, I get those three without being hassled by design questions?

No one hassles you. You either post on his Live Journal blog in response to stuff he asks about, or you don't.

Wolfgang will not show up on your lawn at 3 a.m. to ask questions, and if he does, just turn the hose on him, like I did.

Whizzy, I still need your take on the play balance of this spell! Whizzy I know you're in there!

::whish whish whish::

Not the hose! These evocations are a simple matter of reconciling level and utility! Gah, you've soaked my notes!
