Night Below Gallery Released

The Night Below gallery has been released. You can view it here.

I think it is a pretty strong set overall. I'm not quite sure why the Dread Wraith is wielding a sword though.

I think the Dread Wraith is an homage to LotR or Shanarra...

I like the Shadow figures, esp. the Dragon- the more often they use plastic to do things metal can't (like translucence), the more I like it!

The Shadowbane Inquisitor is pretty cool...I like it when the art of the books gets a 3-D form.

And I love the Brass Golem! Makes me want to design a PC named "Sinbad"...

Hmm. Here's my count on this set:
17 of 24 Rares that I would like.
14 of 24 uncommons I want.
6 of 12 commons I want.

21 Medium or Small non-monster humanoids. Ick. (7 Commons, 8 uncommons, 6 Rares)

Overall, there's too much of the best stuff hidden away in the rares and way too many humanoids. I'm probably going to have to hit the secondary market for what I want.

I don't see the point of the Dread Wraith having a sword when he doesn't have one listed in his stats in the MM. A strange choice in my opinion.

The Shadow definitely rocks. I also love how they did the sword on Frost Giant Jarl. In fact, I would say that he is my favourite mini of the set with the Shadow Dragon second.

I think that the GoL Otyugh looks better than the Otyugh in this set. The Flesh Golem is definitely an improvement and the new (Uncommon) Medusa is 100 times better than the original Harbringer mini. The Carrion Crawler is nice but I would have preferred if it didn't have a saddle.

I found with this set I want quite a lot of the Commons and Uncommons but only about half of the Rares, a bit of a reversal compared to Unhallowed when I wanted a lot of the Rares. There are about 10 Uncommons that I want 4+ of each too.

Overall I think that the Commons and Uncommons in this set rock. The Rares are ok but seem to be a bit hit and miss with me this time. I either really want a Rare or don't want it at all.

Wow.

You know, I don't actually collect the minis. I buy a handful now and again off EBay, just so I have a good array of the various sizes, but I never worry about having the exact mini for any given situation. As long the size fits, I'm happy.

But now I'm actually tempted to start splurging. Some of these minis are fantastic.

This set had to come out while I'm broke, didn't it? :p

I knew what to expect from the spoiler pictures, but a couple of the humanoids are surprise favorites- the assassin and halfling tombseeker.

Is this the set that's supposed to have new mount rules and/or interchangable riders? I thought that was going to be Desert of Desolation, but I notice the three mounted minis seem loose-fitting and that carrion crawler has a saddle..
