I feel your pain Mouseferatu. At least most of the ones I want are commons and uncommons so they won't cost a fortune to buy as singles. BTW. This is completely off topic, but I saw that you have a WotC novel coming out next year. I thinks it's called The Black Crusade. Could you elaborate on the setting it's in and the basic premise of the book? I can't find anything more than the title on amazon.

It's the first of the new Ravenloft: Dominion line. You can find brief blurbs for it, and the second novel in the series, here: http://ww2.wizards.com/Books/Wizards/?doc=main_2008ravenlofttitles

Can't say much more than is already there, but if you have other questions, I'll try to answer 'em. (Perhaps in a new thread.) :)

Thanks for answering my question. The link was quite helpful. It seems interesting. Mixing real world history with Ravenloft. I might just pick it up. Finding the time to read it will be the hard part.

A bit too WoD for my tastes...

...but then, I like my fantasy to be real-world free. :)

There are sets where you are guaranteed* 1 large figure per box; sometimes 2.

There are other sets where the average is more than 1/box, but isn't guaranteed.

(*failing mechanical or human error - and not guaranteed by Wizards. They just guarantee you get 8 figures/booster).

Cheers!
The other day I bought a couple of Blood War (?) packs from a games shop, but I went through them feeling by weight first... :p

It paid off - 1 Firegiant Forge Priest! :D

Give in to temptation. Collect them all! You know you want to... :] :] :] :]

Bad Echohawk. No buscuit.

Don't listen to him children, he's a bad, bad man. (Echohawk "helped" me start my own addiction to plasticrack. I wouldn't be where I am today, broke and kidneyless, without him. Thanks Echohawk! ;) :D )

P.S. WotC really should be paying you some sort of retainer.

The last couple of sets have had a Large Uncommon slot. This meant that, barring any mechanical or human error, you would get a Large Uncommon mini in every booster. One person on MaxMinis reported that they got multiple large minis in the one booster so I don't know if Night Below still has a Large Uncommon slot.

From the SRD: "In some cases, the grim silhouette of a wraith might appear armored or outfitted with weapons. This appearance does not affect the creature’s AC or combat abilities but only reflects the shape it had in life."

So it's because that particular dread wraith carried a sword around when it was alive.

But "because it looks cool!" works for me too ;)
Not to mention a wraith can wield a ghost touch weapon. That the MM dread wraith have one just means it's not standard equipment.
