Nintendo Revolution Controller

Ah, so they'll offer HDTV support as an optional device, right?

It doesn't look like they're going to provide anything beyond component cables, so they won't support anything beyond 480p at all.

Oh, well. It's not like I really care for console.

The new Nintendo Game Boy Advance, HOWEVER, is so 90's.

Very interesting and strange. I'm sure the Nintendo bashers are really sinking their teeth into this one, but Nintendo's at a point where they have to take bold steps to once again become a serious player in the videogame market. Sony and Microsoft are huge companies and can afford to play it safe. Nintendo has to take risks to survive. Videogame controllers have changed very little in the last 20 years, except to add new buttons. This design has the potential to stir some creative grouth in the industry.

Considering that the Gamecube supports progressive scan games I would be shocked if the Revolution didn't support games that run in 480p, 720p & 1080i. And basic packed-in cables mean nothing when talking about output. None of the current gen systems came with anything better than composite cables.

If the new Zelda doesn't run in at least 480p, that will certainly be odd. Especially considering that Wind Waker does...

I agree. And, in fact, you can buy the Component cable adapters for the Game Cube, so I don't know why the Revolution wouldn't support something like that.

My computer can output to a Coax output, but that doesn't mean it's limited to only a TV resolution.

It's terrible! Nintendo will be bankrupt in a year! It's the end times! AAAAHH!

Oh. Sorry. Just channelling the usual Nintendo hate I see on G4 most days.

I think it's cool. Still trying to fit my head around it.

Well, that would be kind of sad that a company that started its business making pachinko machines is surrendering to the two industry giants in electronics.

Um, wasn't it card games? They've been around for a hundred years or so and I have a feeling pachinko machines weren't all that big back then.
