- Famitsu reported that Nintendo's senior management director Yoshihiro Mori has confirmed the price of Wii, the console will cost 25000 yen (US$222) in Japan. The price is about 1/3 of PS3 and less than half of Xbox 360.

So the popular opinion now is $229.99 here in the US. I don't know about Nintendo, but i know that many companies sell their games for more in Japan than in the US (SqaureEnix, for example), so $199.99 might still be a possibility.

I wonder if Nintendo will do a quiet release of controllers with a longer range, like they did with the Wavebird.
