Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

Lasair
"These must be very popular games, I suppose. No matter. I am sorry to have bothered you about it."

Troi shrugs.

Earling... never been here before. Reminds me of when I first set out, no idea of what was out there. I'd heard of Orussus, sure, but never gone there... I remember first setting foot in the Red Dragon, setting out, going back, again and again, until that first job at the vineyards...

Troi's eyebrows furrow, his expression that of one deep in thought.

That's it, then. Enough of this. When I get back, I'm heading to Lathirn. I've wasted enough time... it's time to start looking for his trail. He's out there, somewhere, and so is she. When this is all done, I'll start my hunt... and this time, one of us won't walk away...

OOC: You have just a moment to stretch. Got just about everything set for the next part, so post for that coming tonight :)

Shortly after you all exit the carriage and begin to stretch your legs, Pician emerges from the door and heads down the stairs. "Good, you arived safe, and just in time. There has been news. But first, come, Bernard here will lead you to your rooms so you can freshen up for dinner, and we can discuss things then."

Pician looks over the well dressed man, who has been pulling out any luggage you may have left in the carriage. He nods to Pician and says, "If you would be so kind as to follow me..."

Pician waves to you "See you at dinner, and again, thank you for your haste."

The man, presumably Bernard, leads you up, each to a seperate guest room in the same hall (2 rooms on each side accross from the other 2). Each one has a large bed, a wardrobe, mirror, and washbasin. "You can get settled here, and I will come when dinner is ready. That should be within the hour."

*Lasair goes into her room and sets up, putting her things carefully on the bed before she stretches out to rest on the carpeted floor, her body aching from the long carriage trip. She wouldn't feel this achy if they had just been able to walk on their own two legs, but she would just have to bear the pain until it passed.*

Wil courteously thanks Bernard after he is shown to his room. When the manservant leaves, he sets down his armor and his arms. The road is tiresome for most folk, but for Wil's like, it's only a minor hurdle.

He washes up and dresses down to simple clothes: a faded autumn tunic and some common trousers. His silver dagger is in his boot and his silver holy symbol and his ring hang around his neck. Everything else (except money) is in his backpack in his room.

Troi nods to Bernard as the manservant leaves, then looks about the room.

Nice place. Fancy... too fancy for my blood.

He tosses his pack carelessly on the bed, then checks his weaponry. Looking at the mirror, he pauses a moment to reflect upon his appearance.

Might as well look presentable, I suppose. And I probably don't need all these weapons...

Shrugging, he pulls out his dagger, heads for the washbasin, and quickly gives himself a rough shave. He then tosses his longbow on the bed, accompanied by his throwing axe and his rapier, leaving him with his whip, his boomerang, his shortsword, and his dagger, which he tucks into his boot.

That'll do. Can't sleep on the bed, though...

He rummages through his sack, and pulls out a bedroll, which he then carelessly drapes on the floor.

Well, I'm glad that's settled. What to do now...

With a shrug, the ranger pulls his spellbook out of his pack, along with his drawing pencils. He then seats himself on the bedroll, and begins to draw.

After some time to get yourself settled, Bernard returns. "Lady, Gentilemen, if you will follow me, dinner is ready."

He leads you down to a long dinning room, with a table that could seat at least 30, but there are only 5 places set on one end of the table, and Pician is standing by the table head. "Come, have a seat, dinner should be out in just a moment. I hope your trip was pleasant."

Without a word, Bernard slips into another room, and Pician waits for you to find a seat before he sits himself. "There has been news, there was a ransom note that arived just yesterday, signed by my brother. Once we are through with dinner I can show it to you, and I'm sure you'd like to see the room she was taken from as well. I have kept everyone out of it as much as I can in case you could find some clue to what happened in there."

Bernard returns, carrying 5 smaller plates, and sets them down before you, a simple salad. He motions to several bottles on the table filled with different sauces and then offers you each something to drink, "We have several fine wines, champaign, a wonderful honey mead the stable master brews, as well as water, milk and juice."

Pician asks for a mug of the honey mead, and then continues, "Please, before I begin and babble on about things, are there any questions I can answer for you?"
