Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

Troi sits and listens for the rest of the conversation after he asks Carsis for his side of the story.

So... what's going on, exactly? Lost older brother holding the future baronness hostage...? No, that was just conjecture on his part, I think. He'll tell us what's going on later - though I'm not certain if I trust him.

I knew this was not going to be that simple. Damnit. Why do things always have to get so complicated?...

(OOC: Pssst, Carsis is the lost older brother. He's saying that the scandal caused by faking that Carsis was the kidnapper could help enemies of his family)

Once everyone is finished with dinner, Carsis smiles, "Tis good to see you both again. May your travels keep you safe, and may you find fair Niobe safe and unharmed."

With a bow and a nod, Carsis heads out the door and quickly disapears into the crowd.

*Lasair takes the small sack and heads back to the others.*

"He did not know much more than was clear to us already. He believes that the kidnapping was masterminded by an enemy of the family to cause strife and scandal."

*Lasair puts the sack with her things and waits to see if the others have anything to say in response. If not, she prepares to continue their journey.*

Jaan considers Lasair's information for a while. For a moment it looks like he is going to comment on it. But eventually all he says is, "So, we are ready move on?"
