After several days of travel, you arive at the city of Riverton as you stop for your usuall break. "Should be only another two days to Earling," the driver says.

Lasair
"Now the two of us must locate this Red Herring, whether it be a building or a fish, as it is apparently located in this area."

"It'll be a buildin'. Meetin' at a fish... that'd jus' be awkward, y'know? Did th' letter say about where it was, er are we gonna hafta look aroun' fer a bit?"

Riverton is not that large, and it takes Lasair and Troi very little time to find the Red Herring. There are several empty tables inside, and the smell of fish stew permiates the tavern.

Lasair
"Ah, that exotic scent...it must be a building and a fish. I wonder if Carsis is here?"

Troi shakes his head. "Reminds me a some a th' worse parts a Lathirn... let's just take a table'n wait. I 'magine he'll show up 'ventually."

Troi pays attention to the scents of the room, as well as watching any obvious exits and entrances, his hand not straying far from the hilt of his whip.

Shortly after you sit down, a waitress brings out two bowls of stew, a mug of ale, and a mug of apple cider (non-alcoholic), and sets them down before you (The ale by Troi, the Cider by Lasair). "Courtesy of the man over there," she says, pointing at an elderly gentilemen in a robe and a walking staff with a bag over the top. The man nods, and when the waitress leaves, he stands up and heads over to your table, joining you.

"I'm glad you could make it Lasair, you too Troi. If anyone can bring back Niobe, I'm sure you two can," comes the voice of Carsis from the older man.
