No Cleric in my Group

Would you play in a game without clerics??

  • Yes, my gaming group never has a cleric anyway.

  • Maybe just once if it fit into a particular campaign.

  • Yes, if druids could spontaneously cast cure spells.

  • No, the cleric is a vital part of the game and the lack of healing spells would not work.

Our current campaign, set in Stephen R Donaldson's The Land, is without any clerics in the whole world.

My Necromancer can heal, though, albeit Arcane Healing is weak, weak, weak. I heal myself with vampiric spells, and such.

There are druids, although our party doesnt have one.

The group I DM has no cleric, the have a paladin. They can function without a cleric but it is very costly. They pay a lot to commision other clerical duties like divination, res, healing.

another "other" or I should say unqualified yes.

Actually as it stands now, it is a strange and not very informative little poll

I'm not a huge fan of these options. There isn't an 'Other.'

Yeah. Another poll option for "as long as there's healing magic available" would have been nice. I too use the AE spellcasting classes which all have healing capability.

I clicked the first option, but the truth is my gaming group is half Clerics. The reason I chose option number one is this is the first group I've ever been in with any Clerics. It's kind of fun, though, because there are three of us from different religions.... A priest of the sun, an evil priest of the night, and me, a priest of Jehovah. (That's how little a part religion usually plays in our games: no gods have names, and the 'basic' cleric worships God).

didn't vote. didn't feel the options represented me.

I'd play with no clerics.

I'd play with all clerics.

I'd give arcabne casters acces to the healing spells.

Doesn't really matter. I'd play anything. ;)

Yes.

I've played with no healers, only minor healers (Paladins/Bards), and even a game where everyone was a cleric. It does change the game, but clerics (or Greenbond, if you prefer Arcana Evolved) aren't essential.

Finally, I think that a Druid is a fine replacement for a cleric; the difference in their healing capacity is small.

There should be a "No problem getting someone to play the cleric" choice. We've never had a problem with getting someone to play the cleric. We did have a game where there was no cleric but we made up for that with a druid and a paladin. But that's been the only time. There's one game that has usually has TWO clerics in it.
