No Frequency for Monsters?! (just noticed!)

Shouldn't it be Knowledge (Underdark), Knowledge (Underground Nature), or Knowledge (Caverns)?

Seriously, if all you want to do is change what the skill is called more power to you. A rose by any other name and all that. I don't consider what the skill is called a problem; names of things like this that are so easy to change when I need to are just too easy a fix to worry about.

It was really onlu useful as far as designing your own random encounter tables. It seems to be established now that most DMs don't even use tables that way, so the the inclusion of common, uncommon, rare, would probably be largely irrelevant to most people's games.

For placing the monster in the appropriate slot on the wandering monster table based on frequency.

What wondering monster tables? I don't recall seeing any in a Wizards product.

AD&D wandering monster tables. Presumably they were also used in the WOTC published AD&D products, such as the late printing DMG.

Bad memory then. Reached for the first WOTC product on my desk The Sunless Citadel, open the front cover, look at the table of contents:

"Sidebar: Wandering Monsters.......................9"

Good, that helps prove that it is antiquated and left behind.
