Watching Equilibrium right now...I can see him doing Batman Begins, no question...doing IM, different story...the character is much older. But then again, Marvel and DC has this tis for tac, when actors crossover doing comic icons...example, the current X-men problem on flim casting.

Actually, having seen him in Vanilla Sky, I think that Tony Stark would be one of the few roles that I could actually see Tom Cruise being immersed in. Practically every other movie he's in he doesn't play whatever the actual role is--he plays Tom Cruise in late 19th century Japan, or he's Tom Cruise in the seedy LA night life, and I'm sure this summer he'll be Tom Cruise trying to escape an alien attack. Somehow I think he has the experience to make me believe that it would actually be the rich, cocky, womanizing Tony Stark in that armor.
