I rather liked Nemesis. The special effects were certainly the best of all the movies, and anything involving Romulans gets my attention. It's too bad it didn't do too well at the box office, Nemesis may be my favorite Trek film (that or First Contact or Save the Whales).

although i haven't seen the most recent star trek movies, my general opinion of TNG movies is that they are basically glorified episodes. i didn't really get anything new out of it. most of the movies, in my opinion, could probably have been 2-hour episodes.

Yup, that sounds about right. The just didn't feel all that big. I do know that they did follow a set of good films (2 great, 2 good and 2 ok) but they had 4 tries to get it right. That is more than enough. If they were smart they would have made the last 3 into a mini-trilogy, like what TOS movies did with 2-4.

I've got a copy of Generations still in the shrink wrap, think it's worth anything? me either.

I remember when a Star Trek movie was a event movie, now they are just movies. I have not seen Nemesis but I bet that it wasn't all that big a deal either. Being a Wrath of Khan fan I find most of the Star Trek movies wanting by comparison anyway.

I think it's because that in 1979 (I'm sorry, I'm not that old, ok?), people wanted Trek back, and now we're bombarded with it. Besides, how many episodes of TOS featured a plot to deal with the destruction of the Federation?

I have a feeling that if the right script come along, Patrick Stewart may return to do one more Trek film, but as an insurance, he probably want an increase in contract salary.

All one need is to get director Nicholas Meyer and producer Harve Bennett back onboard. And yes, Paramount will have to make their best sales pitch to re-hire them.

Personally, it's time to mix up the Trek cast (from TNG, DS9, & VOY) to make one ensemble film.

If Meyer was involved he would make sure he had creative control. Anything Trek he touches is solid gold. That would certainly get Stewart back on. Hell, this is the same director who got Lenard Nimoy to come back and he liked it so much that he directed the next 2.
