No more leap of the Clouds?

I don't want any monk chars at my table with 6 attacks (or 7 with haste) who only Power Attack all the time for whole BAB and roll 7 d20 at once to check how many natural 20s they get.

Why dont you just go and petition WotC for a
+15 / +15 / +15 / +15 / +15 / +15
attack progression right out of the way?

Seriously, I take the new monk attack table over the old one any time.
Btw, if you have managed to *freeze* your opponent to 0 str, 0 dex, you should just coup de grace him.

Your first comment I won't dignify with further response.

Your second comment: you can't change from a full attack to a coup de grace mid-full-attack-action, but their being paralysed does make further attacks in the same action more likely to hit (the -5 Dexterity modifier to AC, if nothing else).

I actually did that a few times. Couldn't hit except on a 20 anyway, so why not? :)

Aynways, I like the new progression better, sure I lose out on two attacks, but my first three are more likely to hit now.

Higher movement speed made you jump farther in 3.0 too. Now it's a little bit easier to calculate though.

Alas, that 90 foot speed will only get you an extra 24 feet of jumping distance, rather than tripling your already-impressive jumping distance.

In 3.0e, a Mnk20 with Str 16 and maxed out Jump (and no other boosts beyond synergy from Tumble) gets a Jump bonus of about +28; so he'll be able to make running long jumps of about 100 feet if he takes 10 (28 ft + 5ft base * 3 for 90 ft. speed = 99 feet). In 3.5e, that monk will have about Jump +52, which will let him jump around 62 feet on average.

His standing jump would be, in 3e, about 51 feet; in 3.5e, that's about 31 feet.

Yep, it's been cranked back from 'ludicrous' to 'ridiculous'. :D

To quote my DM regarding my monk character, prior to his unfortunate demise: "Who the heck are you, Carl Lewis?"

First attack ... "reezing the Lifeblood"; *poof*, a paralysed foe (STr 0, Dex 0, unable to even twitch). How can you miss him, her, or it then ... ?

And as soon as it's a non-humanoid? Or heck, even a foe without the Humanoid type, depending on how your DM wants to read the feat.

Then just go back to being the Wifflemonk?

I wonder if the unarmed attacks being "light" weapons in 3.5e mean that they can't be enhanced with power attack?
