Non-Core Class Survivor: Round 15 (The Final 5)

Which class do you want to vote off the list?

I'm pro-psionics, but the psychic warrior is my least favorite of the remaining classes (which are all great classes, IMO). I think the psion should be in the final 3, but I don't think it's going to make it this time. :(

We already had rules for specialist wizards. Specialist wizards with spontaneous access to their whole list, sorcerer-like spells per day, good skills, and a suite of class abilities to boot?

It deserved to go. It should have gone much sooner.

But Beguiler is practically a non-combat class. They have few spells that can actually do harm to an opponent. They only power problem I see with them is the inclusion of Power Word Kill and Overwhelm in their spell lists, and that can be house ruled, which is a problem with many of the non-core classes. For instance, I like the concept of the knight, but those challenge abilities have got to be replaced with something better in a house rules agreement.

I've heard this argument before. I still don't buy it. Classes are balanced as members of a team. One well placed hold spell will take down opposition quite handily. I have seen it many times.

Well, the Duskblade and the Scout both need to go. The Duskblade is just too good. The Scout is just too bland.

At this point, I'm hoping that the Warlock is the survivor. Other than the Psion (which looks sure to leave us soon), it's the only class left that I'd actually play.

Yep. Pretty much the same problem I have with the Dread Necromancer. I have been finding more and more power creep in products as of late.

If you feel there's power creep, then vote duskblade -- at 13th level, how is burning a vampiric touch spell to have it activate on every hit of your full attack even remotely balanced?

I voted for the Duskblade this round.......would've been nice if folks had concentrated on eliminating the Scout this round, but alas...... Looks like the psion's about to 'splode.

It's a difficult choice. The Psionic Warrior doesn't deserve to have survived this long, the Duskblade should be in the final four, but the Psion is better than both, definitely final three, if not better material. It's a pity a bunch of twits with an anti-psionic agenda had to corrupt the whole thing, so I may as well spite them now it's all been so messed up.

So what is with all the love for the Warlock - it is not a BAD class I suppose, but is
it really all that and a bag of chips???

Alas, poor Psion, it appears your day has finally arrived.
A top 5 finish is certainly better then I expected you to achieve, so we will be pleased
with that result.

I simply can not vote for the Duskblade - it is the FIRST fighting spellcaster in six years of WotC design that actually WORKS at mixing fighting and spellcasting.

That leaves the Scout - is move/stab/move that interesting?
I find the core Ranger to be eminently more enjoyable as a character class.
