Non-Core Class Survivor: Round 15 (The Final 5)

Which class do you want to vote off the list?

We already had rules for specialist wizards. Specialist wizards with spontaneous access to their whole list, sorcerer-like spells per day, good skills, and a suite of class abilities to boot?

It deserved to go. It should have gone much sooner.

QFT

I'm sad i wasn't around to kill off Mr. "I'm a gestaulted rogue/illusionist without being in a gestault game!", but mostly just happy it's gone.

Only two broken classes left, and as much as I despise the pro-psionics vote-rigging, I have to go with my (cold, black) heart and vote duskblade. At least psions are weak at the early levels.

Have to disagree with you there. In earlier editions where the NWPs didn't matter so much, you could play a fun Enchanter, moving around in a social environment and throwing indefinite (until they saved) Charm spells around. Now, however, the lack of any social skill makes the Enchanter fairly impotent except as the guy who throws out scary Mind-Affecting spells in combat, and it means you basically have to play a Telepath to play an Enchanter. The Beguiler allows you to play an Enchanter who can actually move in social circles, though you sacrifice nearly everything but Enchantment and Illusion to do so. It seems a fair trade to me.

It's a difficult choice. The Psionic Warrior doesn't deserve to have survived this long, the Duskblade should be in the final four, but the Psion is better than both, definitely final three, if not better material. It's a pity a bunch of twits with an anti-psionic agenda had to corrupt the whole thing, so I may as well spite them now it's all been so messed up.

Yeah... Because the pro-psionic "twits" haven't been doing it.

Honestly, I've been voting for the psychic warrior for a while now, because while I dislike the psion, I dislike him more, but since they were both kept on life-support by pro-psi weirdos for so long..

In all fairness, it was the an anti-psionic poster who first suggested "ganging up on the psion" so that the anti-psionic lobby wasn't splitting their votes.

Clearly, that hasn't worked very well as both the main classes made it to the final 5 (although one looks like it's finally making its exit, the wrong one, IMO).

What a pity, at this point the class to go was actually the one I would have expected to stay at least until the next round and maybe the round after that ... I agree with you once again my good thief - the wrong one is going.

But the suggestion was more in jest, as is expressed by the fact that the "anti-clan" hasn't kicked a class out yet, before this round.

I, for one, took it that way and continued to vote psychic warrior until this round, because it had become obvious that the silly psionic lovers were working together.

Not true. You must have missed when the Anti-psi people voted off all the other Psi-classes (besides the last two) by ganging up. It took the psi people until there were two left to realise this and put a stop to it. For the record, I've only been voting off classes I don't like to protect the Psion, as soon as it started going after Archivist and Beguiler, I moved to the boring Scout and shall stay there until the Scout is gone.

That'd be like saying that the pro-psionic classes voted off all non-psionic classes off just to protect the psion and psionic warrior.

Yep, and the main problem they ran into is that they have been trying to get rid of the better of the two first, thus taking away the votes they could have garnered from people trying to vote off the worst class. I found it quite amusing for a while.
