But, ultimately boring, at least in my opinion.

Since people's favorite class won't change (you don't get performances each day from all the classes to judge them by), the top vote getter would stay pretty consistant. You'd get almost the same effect by starting a poll that asks "what is your favorite class?" There is a dynamic in elminating choices, but I doubt it's that significant.

But, you would get the roll-up to second favorite classes with each round.

Okay, I'll bite.

Why shouldn't there be a class that can cater to that stereotype, Sammael? Why should the spec-ops soldier be sacrosanct?
Because of balance issues. The spec-ops soldier stereotype (which I do not think holds true IRL, but that's another story) is simply too good to be a balanced base class. Tough, strong, fast, skilled, capable with weapons, capable in unarmed combat, cunning, able to survive, agile, athletic... the list just keeps going. It's got "prestige class" written all over it. Or gestalt, if you prefer that alternative.

Why do people like the Warlock? The Warlock is teh suck -- vote to remove it.

I find the warlock flavor inspired but the execution lacking. Hopefully it won't be the last, but it definately seems it'll make the next round :(

The scout and the warlock fill essential fantasy archetypes/niches far more than the duskblade does. Yes, you can get something similar to the scout with ranger and/or rogue--but it's only close, not quite. Frankly, I prefer the scout as the archetypal wilderness character, with rangers being far more rare and mystical. To use the old SAT format, "ranger is to druid as paladin is to cleric." I don't feel rangers should represent the "standard" wilderness character. The scout, however, is perfect for that.
That is exactly how I do it.

I admit that skirmish is a little wonky. At least it is different mechanically than sneak attack. It might be better to have the scout's extra damage work more like an archer's in Iron Heroes, but I don't know.

Bah. This is also true of the swashbuckler stereotype, the Herculean hero stereotype, the ninja stereotype, the barbarian stereotype, etc., etc. In any case a spec-ops soldier that lives up to the name is still hosed coming up against a pretty standard druid or wizard, so... :P

However, like Survivor, you may end up with slightly weird results, where someone who wasn't well liked, but who managed to avoid pissing people off just enough to be left as a somewhat uncomfortable winner.

Certainly, if the Scout is voted off this round, I won't mave much interest in either of the reaminders.

Personally, I kind of like the scout as an NPC class, but Duskblade is overpowered so it goes first. Then Scout and Warlock(the best class ever period) will win. You know when the core class survivor is done we should vote on which is better, the winer of this(warlock) or the winner of that.
