We've reached the stage in the voting where the worst thing I can say about a class is that it doesn't really appeal to me. Shadowcaster gets my vote this round because it somehow doesn't grab my imagination in the way the rest of the classes do.

For me its not the wings. Favored Souls suffer a lot of the same problems sorcs due in comparison to the wizard, except this is the CLERIC!!!

A lot of cleric spells are very situational spells which is fine when you can swap out spells 1/day. But it makes it very very hard for a favored soul to pull any of the clerics weight.

The favored soul is really gimped. Being restricted to medium armour and not having the ability to turn undead is a real deal-killer. The options presented in PH 2 go some ways to keep it from being so darn wimpy, but I still think that, given the choice, people will pick a cleric every time.

I have to admit, with the number of Knight haters, I'm suprised it lasted this long. I'm also suprised the Shadowcaster lasted this long, even though there weren't many haters, there weren't a lot crazy about it (maybe it's the home field advantage ).

Glyfair, you should not only crown the Survivor, but the class who has come closest to being voted off but not the most times through the threads.

So, in this thread, 3rd place would get 5 points, 4th place would get 3 points, and 5th would get 1. All classes that are tied for those places get the points. Total those points up through all the threads and you'll find the class that's the real Survivor.

Unfortunately, I think that would put the Favored Soul very close to the running for that one.

Vote off Artificer! Who the heck wants that overpowered and goofy character in their game anyway!

Don't vote for Favored Soul. They fill a needed niche. I know people hate the wings, but since it is a high level ability it's easy to ignore. Most high level abilities don't even come into games. Heck, with multi-classing and your average game being mid-level, I doubt there is even a handful of people that actually get to extra-high-levels in a single non-core class anyway. But the basics of this class are sound and useful.

Hurrah, someone agrees with me! Artificer must go; Favored Soul must stay.
