Dude, I'd LOVE a good WP/VP conversion.
Although I'm thinking about some kind of weird radical conversion of my own that takes stuff in another direction. A set of combat skills for different common attack types (Piercing, Bludgeoning, Slashing, Flexible, Exotic, Thrown, Fired), different types of defenses (Parry, Block, Dodge), and so forth. And damage that increases by how much you hit by -- that is, you need a 16 to hit, you roll a 23, so you hit by 7. With a dagger, a x1 weapon, you'd do 7 points damage. With a longsword, a x2 weapon, you'd do 14. with a greatsword, you could do 21. (You'll note that people need a lot more hit points for this system to not kill people a bunch.)
This is semi-related to me figuring out a good way to incorporate armor as DR -- if armor is DR, then an ordinary-strength person can never get past an opponent in full plate, which is dumb. If armor is Defense, then the mace bounces harmlessly off the chain shirt some of the time, which is also dumb. So I'm trying to add a "You do more damage when you hit by a bunch" factor.
