non PHB races

I am currently playing a female drow Bard7/Virtuoso1. Have a lot of fun with this character.

She grew up as a CE character in the Underdark, alignment change to CG occured around the age of 130 due to several incidents. Now she travels the Night Below to tell people that not all dark elves are that bad.

In other words, setting them up to be taken advantage when they meet other Dark Elves. Nice. ;)

Myself I've played a Tremen (from Mythic Races, it's a Treant lite) Druid/Fighter and a Lizardfolk Psion (who when the various shaman books hit the shelves was rewritten as a shaman).

In the campaign I'm currently DM'ing, we have a Firbolg (nowhere near the MM2 monstrosity but instead rebalanced as an ECL +1 race) who's playing a Holy Warrior from Book of the Righteous. We also have a gobber (from Monstrinomicon, it's like a goblin but with better social habits) rogue but he's on hiatus at the moment.

In an old 2E Planescape game, I played two non-PHB characters. My first character was a Spelljammer lizardman fighter (swashbuckler) who was a privateer captain.

After that character retired, I played a Rakasta (cat-people from Mystara) monk (using the Scarlet Brotherhood Monk class from some of the Greyhawk stuff) who was a member of the Transcendent Order (Ciphers). I really enjoyed this character because a lot of the cat-like behavioral tendencies worked well with the Cipher behavior and really made him unique.

I've got an Orc, a Half-Dragon templated Half-Orc, and Goblin. Links to each are in my sig.

I'd have to say my favorite so far has been the goblin. Something about being small and sneaky without being a Kender wanna-be. :)

Goblin wizard with a couple of levels of rogue thrown in for good measure. Took place in a campaign where goblins were generally accepted in the slums of most cities. It was neato.

Kobold Sorcerer. Wasn't done that often back then, but now I hear about them all of the time. It wasn't that fun. It might have been fun to have kept on playing him till he was a lich though
