Nonlethal Damage...Hit Point Damage?

The Dahlver-Nar vestige from Tome of Magic grants the ability "Shield Self", which transfers half of the "hit point damage" to a chosen person.
If someone deals nonlethal damage to someone protected by this, would it also be transferred?
I don't believe so, for several reasons.
1) Share Pain, Forced, a psionic power with similar effects, specifically says that nonlethal damage is not transferred, implying that nonlethal damage is not hit point damage.
2) It's not tracked the same way, and doesn't...decrease your hit points as hit point damage is wont to do.
3) Under the description of nonlethal damage, it specifically states, "It is not 'real' damage."

I'm inclinded to say no.

I don't have most of the books you mention but consider:
"Not real damage" would imply that nonlethal damage is not split, and point 2 backs that up somewhat.

Shared Pain, Forced mentions nonlethal specifically, so is the default position that it can be transfered? I don't agree with that position but that may just be my reasoning reenfocing my reasoning  Sheild other does not have that note either I think.

While IDHMBIFOM, when nonlethal damage exceeds your current HP you go unconscious, meaning that while linked they are not the same (they certainly have similar results). CON damage affects your HP, but as far as I know this does not get transfered either.

I'd not be upset if the DM said yes though, since it is not likely to happen a lot of times.
