North Carolina Game Day IV: May 8

As described on the NC Gameday IV site, my game will be run using the Hellboy, Powered by GURPS, rules. You do not need to know GURPS in order to play, nor do you need the Hellboy RPG rulebook, but it is a nice book and if you like the comic I recomend it heartilly.
Alright, you got me hooked. I'm in for this one. :)
It's been a while since I played GURPS, and I don't have the Hellboy rules (although I might be able to borrow them from a friend). Are you going to be providing us with PCs if we don't make our own?
Looking forward to meeting you!

I'll have a few pregens on hand but would prefer to work with players ahead of time and have you guys make the characters.

One other note on my game:
You can build characters mostly with out the Hellboy book. All PC's will have the BPRD as a patron and duty to the organization, thus you do not need to count the patron/duty to the BPRD in your point total or for disads (It's 60pts -5/-10 if your curios; the BPRD is one er "Hell" of a patron.).

Also note for character concepts. My game will be based off of the comic timeline not the movie. The movie takes up a fairly early episode for the comic and makes a few understandable changes to the setting. The general public knows full well about Hellboy and the BPRD and thinks well of them. Also the general public does not know much about the paranormal or occult, which is generally a good thing as knowing more often means more bad stuff is going on. Again I encourage players to read those comics that they have for free online (They are free and good all they take is time and your eyes.).

Any word on what the dinner pre and post arrangements are like to be?

I'm glad you posted that, Clueless. I was going to make us another reservation at Errico's for Friday night unless there were staunch objections. And I think the word on the street is that we're going to do something on-site for the Saturday night meal. Big pizza order or giant subs or somesuch.

Thoughts?

Still works for me, especially since my plans for saturday are not finalized, and I may wind up cutting out at 9 or so, instead of spending another night in lovely NC. :)

Just so's you know, Henry, you're welcome to crash at my place if'n you need a place to stay that night.

A bit of bad news. I might not be able to make it to this Game Day. :(
Wedding planning is in overdrive, and weekends are rapidly filling up with things that need to be done and can't be postponed. In addition to my wedding on May 30, one of my best friends is getting married June 13, and I'm trying to help him out as well. So a 4.5 hour trip each way and the $ it would cost for a hotel for 2 nights is getting further and further from being a possibility. I'm not going to cancel my gaming slots just yet, but if things don't look any different in the next week, I'm going to have to make a decision and stick with it. Sorry.

Sorry to hear that you might not be able to make it, CL. I understand about the hectic times surrounding the wedding though. If it makes the difference between you coming or not, I'd be willing to offer you a place to stay. The accomodations ain't much (we don't have a guest room so you'd be looking at the couch in the basement or a sleeping bag on the floor), but you're welcome to them.

Just let me know.
