North Carolina Game Day IV: May 8

I need to call Errico's to finalize our reservations. Could anybody who is planning on going to dinner on Friday night please sound off now. Thanks.

I'll let this serve as a bit of a bump for those who missed my request to confirm the Friday night dinner reservation.

Also there is another matter to consider:

As of right now, there are several games on the schedule with 0, 1 or 2 players signed up (mine is one of them). I think it would be a good idea for the GM's in question to consider how many players they consider a minimum in order to run the game and, if a few more folks don't sign up in the next few days, consider cancelling the game far enough in advance of Game Day to allow your players (if any) to sign up for other games. I'm sure that the GM's in question would also like the chance to sign up to play if they can't get enough players to run their games.

And please don't feel disheartened if you have to resort to this. Not every NC Game Day is going to draw a huge crowd and this one is timed a bit poorly considering the university exam schedule. I still think we're going to have a ton of fun so don't sweat it if you have to cancel your game and just go and play. You may still want to bring the materials you need to run the game because you never know when a pickup game might be in the offing.

As for my game in particular, there is a very good possibility that it will go on as scheduled as I have at least one other person who has expressed that he wanted to play but hasn't found the time to officially sign up for it yet. I shall be kicking him squarely in the buttocks tonight in order to get him to comply. Which brings up my final point:

If you have folks in you regular gaming groups who are not signed up to attend, this would be a great time to badger them a bit.

I just looked over on the ncgameday page and noticed one other person had signed up for my game, other than the ones I knew of already.

Hardhead, I know you'd mentioned you wanted to play in the PS game, but I'm not sure if you snagged one of the spots up there (if not you're still in anyways). Are you isiynen who was the last person to sign up there?

If not, Isiynen I sent you an email and will need to give you some info, and get some from you as well in prep for the game. This shall be oh so very evil...

Rei, hopefully this will help out with the "too many games" situation, although that wasn't how I intended it.

I absolutely hate to do this, but it looks like I'm going to have to cancel my run of "Comfort Zone". I just found out I'm going to have to be out of town on family business, and I can't get around it.

I hope that some of you afternoon GMs can find a spot for the players left at sea by my cancellation.

I was excited about being at NC Gameday, and even more excited about running a session, but I guess sometimes things come up. Have fun guys, I'm jealous.

I'm sorry to hear that you can't make it, Sweeny Todd. I've already cancelled your game at the Game Day website and e-mails will automatically be sent to all of your players informing them of the cancellation (I told you guys that site was cool!). Hopefully you'll be able to join us next time, ST.

For those players who were in this game, perhaps the Living Spycraft game or the Hellboy game would be to your liking, based on ST's description of the game he had planned to run.

Ok, folks, we're coming down the home stretch here so I'll mention a few points of interest:

1) I have gotten very few confirmations for folks who are going to the Friday Night Dinner at Errico's. That is not a problem if you are busy and can't make it. I just don't want to make a reservation for 6-8 people and then have 20 show up and not be able to sit in the same general area. So PLEASE let me know if you're planning on coming to that.

2) After some discussions with Neal last week, we've settled on pizza as our Saturday night meal at Talley. There will be a sign up sheet whereupon you'll give your name and a preference in pizza topping after you've paid. We're going to base the cost for the dinner on each person consuming about half a pizza (overkill perhaps but we'd rather have too much food than too little) and some drinks will be supplied for purchase. The cost will be about $6-$7 per person. Note that this is STRICTLY optional and people are more than welcome to brown bag it and still attend the dinner that night.

3) I want to keep this thread as visible as possible as we close in on G-Day so I'll be bumping it regularly. Any help you can give me in this department would be appreciated.

I'm in for it most definately.

And those of you signed up for my "Of treachery and scarlet orbs" Planescape game, get in touch with me if you havn't done so already to tell me what you're playing so I can give you info relating to plot hook, etc. I've got 5 signed up on the webpage, and 1 other who wants in but hasn't signed up there. That's my max count for players, so if game day arrives and I don't have characters already created and approved I may trim the count down to 5. I'd hate to do so, but I've emailed you all if I've not heard from you yet, so please check thy inboxes.
