Game Scheduling Process

Per Rel's request, I've added an Announcement over on the NCGD site with information on the process of submitting an event.

I also made it a sticky post in the Game Scheduling forum, so that it'll be available for future reference in there where it seems most pertinent.

I have to bow out of this game day. My wife and I have family that has decided to visit and while I have tried to get them to change the weekend, it has not worked.

Sorry to all those in my Chronicles II game. I intend to run it at NC Game Day 5. I really wish that I could make it.

Corlon, never fear. Henry asked me (on the Game Day website forums) to change the game to Reserved so that your slot and Togamario's wouldn't get snapped up by anybody else. Consider yourself signed up though the details of how exactly I'll get you added need to be worked out. I'll let you know something soon.

Also, I think I'll talk to Neal about putting something about how the GM->Approval->Event->Approval process works on the front page over there. I think some of the confusion is hampering our attempts to get everybody signed up.

Progress is not always without some bumps in the road.

I'll be the first to admit that our first go at using the NC Game Day site has been a bit troublesome. It has brought me to question whether "the old way was better". But I still think that it will be a boon in the long run. The more we use it, the easier it will get.

As for the site troubles, there's DEFINITELY some details to be ironed out. I can't even figure out how to sign up for a game, short of asking an admin. I looked at Old One's faded glory, but saw no "sign up for this game" type option, even though it's "walk-in." (Not that I want to necessarily yet, but I thought I'd experiment, and there's no option to do so, or at least an easily identifiable option.

I'm also sorry to see so many "Gameday Alumni" can't make it to the next one. Oh, well - time to start working on my sales pitches for new blood!

Oops. When I changed things up yesterday so that you can specify exactly how many slots to open for pre-registration (instead of basing it on some abstract mathmatical function), I missed a place that looks at that to determine whether or not to show the pre-registration link.

If you look now (http://ncgameday.dhorizon.org/viewEvent.php?event=2) you'll see under the list of pre-registered users a link which says:

Only x seats left!

By the way, Neal, LGodamus e-mailed me and he is not supposed to be in the Tight Spot game (or any other games as of yet). I can't quite figure out how to use my Admin powers to change this and I don't have time to tinker with them right now. Think you could delete him from that game for me?
